Auburn, California. It’s been home to Alice and her family for generations. Since the early 1850s, to be exact. Alice has devoted her career to public service. In her third non-consecutive term on the Auburn City Council, Alice proudly served as Auburn Mayor three times. She has also generously volunteered her time to numerous community organizations, service clubs, and regional non-profits. She attended local schools, including Placer High School, and graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Political Science, Public Service. She and her husband Frank, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Officer, have one teen daughter, Sophia.

The high threat of wildfire, addressing the city’s fiscal challenges, the need for robust and diversified economic development, and the call for affordable housing are just a few of the challenges that Auburn faces today. The time is now to re-elect a leader with decades of experience serving in elected and high-level appointed State and local government positions. A leader who has demonstrated her ability to build successful partnerships with public and private sector partners. A leader who governs with respect, ingenuity, and fiscal concern. Auburn needs the continuity of leadership that Alice Dowdin Calvillo brings to the Auburn City Council.
